Day 0: The Start

After a long train ride from Germany to Kiruna, we took a bus to Nikkaluokta. We arrived around noon and hiked ~5km until we found a suitable camping spot.
Day 1: Good Weather
We started the adventure with beautiful weather.

Day 2: Glacier Adventures
Easy day because we got distracted by a beautiful glacier and just had to explore it. At noon, we met some nice people from the nearby research station. They were just about to leave for the winter. The last humans we saw for the next few days.

Day 3: Snowstorm

We woke up and everything was white. We walked what would with good weather be a route with beautiful views. But we saw mostly white.

The snow made walking difficult, especially in the big boulder fields that seemed to never end.
Day 4: Escape from the mountains

It continued to snow the whole night, and the next morning it was already quite deep. We decided to leave the mountains and head for the valley.

As we were leaving the mountains, the weather cleared up, and we found a beautiful camping spot. We were rewarded with some northern lights later that night.

Day 5: The Moose Valley
As we walked through the valley, we saw loads of moose tracks in the snow. Sadly, we didn't see any living moose. But we met a hunter that just shot and gutted one.

Day 6: The upper end of the Valley
It started to thaw, but the weather was good, and we had a beautiful view of the valley as we ascended it. A truly magnificent valley!

Day 7: Civilization?
The weather continued to be good. We come across the popular Kungsleden hiking trail, which has more the dimension of a hiking street. But nevertheless, no humans are in sight. For the rest of the hike, we followed the Kungsleden trail.

Day 8: Reindeer
We saw a reindeer herd. We also saw a lot of reindeer tracks.

Day 9: Side Adventure
As we (because of the bad weather) still had one day left, we decided to hike up a mountain. In theory, we had great views over Abisko National Park.

Day 10: The End
Back to civilization.
