Day 1: The Train Station

I arrived at the Haugastøl train station and hiked half a day with a very heavy backpack until I found a suitable camping spot. This was my first time hiking alone for multiple days, so I was a bit nervous on my first night.
Day 2: Beautiful Valley

On the second day I continued hiking in the direction of the big Hardangerjøkulen glacier. At the end of the day I found a wonderful camping spot in the bay of a small lake.
Day 3: Glacier Views

Day three was long and uneventful but had lots of views at the glacier. Also, I lost the tip of the walking stick in one of the many mud pits. I tried to find it, but it was as black as the mud, so this was futile.
Day 4

I continued to make good progress with beautiful, sunny weather. It was almost too warm.

Day 5: Glacier Detour

As I was a bit faster than planned and just found the perfect camping place, I decided to put my tent up early.

The view from the mountain I climbed was breathtaking.

Day 6: Goodbye Glacier

I said goodbye to the glacier that accompanied me for the last days. This was a very stony day, and I found a big reindeer antler.
Day 7: Through the valley

I descended into a green valley with forests and some houses. As I ascended again, the weather changed. The wind picked up substantially, and it started to rain a little bit. The valley sadly did not provide good, wind-protected camping spots.
Day 8: Storm
I could not sleep much because of the storm. I was terrified that my tent would not hold up. As soon as the first glimpses of light appeared, I packed up and started hiking.

I walked a few hours to a little hut at the mountain pass. I used the hut to make a nap as I was exhausted.

The hut was old but very cozy. After the nap I started walking down to the valley because I hoped the wind would be less strong lower. Multiple times the strong gusts almost made me trip.

Day 9

Short day as I walked most of the way the day before.
The hike ended where it started.
